Longitudinal Seam Welding Machine

Automatic Longitudinal Seam Welding Machine is mainly used for longitudinal seam welding of thin plates. It adopts a cantilever structure and mainly consists of frame, clamping mechanism, water-cooled mandrel, backing strip, shaft end bracket, traveling carriage, cross slide, wire feeder, torch holder and other components.

The clamping mechanism uses compressed air to inflate the airbag on the key-type pressure plate, generating a maximum linear pressure of 25 kg/cm at the end of the pressure plate. The spacing between the left and right pressure fingers is adjustable to suit different weld widths.

Mandrels are designed with various diameters according to the length of the cylindrical weldment to ensure sufficient rigidity. The water-cooled backing strip on the mandrel fits closely to the workpiece. The backing strip is equipped with grooves with evenly distributed shielding gas holes, ensuring proper back forming and cooling of the weld.

The vertical height of the mandrel is adjustable to accommodate welding of different plate thicknesses. A traveling carriage is installed on the upper beam of the frame, which moves linearly along the beam via guide rails and drive mechanism, with infinitely variable speed control.
